The Comcare National Work Health and Safety Awards recognise and reward excellence in workplace health and safety, recovery at and return to work.

For individuals and organisations in the Comcare scheme, the Awards are an opportunity to celebrate and be recognised for your achievements while raising awareness of best practice.
In 2025 we celebrate 20 years of the Awards. To mark this milestone occasion, we will celebrate our winners and finalists at a memorable gala dinner at The Marion in Canberra.
Award categories
In 2025, there are 6 awards in 5 categories:
- Prevention Award
- Recovery at and Return to Work Award
- Impact and Contribution Award
- Outstanding contribution by an individual
- Outstanding contribution by a team
- Health and Safety Representative Award
- Judge’s Choice Award.
Judging criteria
Our judges will assess nominations based on:
- best practice – activities that go above and beyond existing better practices
- innovation – novel programs, systems and evidence-based approaches
- impact – results and data that showcase a significant, ongoing impact enabling safe and healthy work.

- April – Nominations close
- Late August – Finalists announced
- 13 November – Awards dinner and winners announced.
